Shortlisting for the HSSD Healthcare Bursary

Yesterday we sat down to review 11 entries submitted by HSSD staff for our Healthcare Bursary – and it was inspiring to read through ideas filled with such passion for our islands future!

The purpose: to enhance health and social care provision in the islands.

After much debating the entries were whittled down to five; who will be invited to present in front of a judging panel made up of representatives from the ICCI team and HSSD.

The winners will be announced on November the 6th, 2014.

Main Sponsors for The Optimists Club at Jersey Battle of Flowers

Insurance Corporation are delighted to announce that we will continue to be main sponsors for The Optimists Club and their Jersey Battle of Flowers exhibit for a further 3 years!

This years battle saw The Optimists Club come away as winners for a third year in a row with their fantastic ‘Prix d’Honneur’ float! (See below)

Based around the Chinese New Year celebrations; it depicted various rockets, a large dragon-themed Catherine wheel centre piece, smaller Catherine wheels all over the float and a large carnival dragon at the front. Work on the float took roughly 7 months – a huge task!

The club, who we have had a long-standing sponsorship with, also won: Class 11 – first, Clubs and Associations Award; Animation Award; Moonlight Parade Carnival Atmosphere Award; Spectators Award and Best Illuminated Float.

After such a fantastic Battle this year – we’re looking forward to seeing what the team produce for 2015.

“…ICCI’s endless support has been invaluable and proven to be not only an asset but a real driving force behind our success.” Paul Michel, Chairperson of The Optimists Club.
