Conservation Awards 2012

There is to be a different emphasis to the 2012 Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards, which launch today in both the bailiwick of Guernsey and in Jersey.

Environmentalists and eco-friendly gardeners will again have the chance to win £2,000 and schools culd earn £1,000 in funding if their entries are successful in the competition which has been running for 22 years.

"In the past we have always rewarded successful conservation projects but this year we have decided to change the emphasis and help fund ideas and potentail initiatives," said competition founder and chairman of Insurance Corporation, Peter Walpole.
