TWO projects created for the benefit for young islanders and the community at large have won prizes for this year’s Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards.
Living Streets Guernsey received £2,000 for their Baubigny Schools pathways project, which provides a safe route to school for children walking or cycling from St Peter Port north. The cross-country route links up existing pathways from Pitronnerie Estate to the Baubigny schools and has been enhanced by planting a ‘green corridor’ for all islanders to enjoy.
It was a fab weekend of football as the men’s and ladies’ Muratti finals took place at Springfield in Jersey.
First up were the ladies with Jersey taking the trophy for their 5-1 win against the Guernsey team.
The weather looked like it was going to scupper plans on the Sunday but, thankfully the Guernsey fans made it over to Jersey enmasse to see their team win for the third year in a row – this time by 4-1 against the Reds.
A big thank you to our mascots who lead out the Jersey team to start the game off in style.
Congratulations goes to Lauren Twist as winner of our May Employee of the Month. We received some fantastic feedback from a broker friend, complimenting Lauren on her excellent and speedy service, going the extra mile to ensure that an urgent quote was received. Congratulations and very well done Lauren, our May Employee of the month.
LOCAL conservationists are being encouraged to celebrate their work in this year’s Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards.
Now in their 24th year, the awards are open to Channel Island individuals, businesses, organisations and schools who have created, or who have plans to create, an environmental project for the benefit of the islands.
