Insurance Corporation Donate to Mind in the Channel Islands
Part of life at Insurance Corporation includes investing back into our local communities; it’s part of the culture at Insurance Corporation. With the uncertainty that came with a global pandemic and outbreaks of COVID-19 in both Guernsey and Jersey, we had a really challenging decision to make.
Whilst both our Conservation Awards and Healthcare Bursary are established events that have had a positive impact on our environment and people over the last three decades, like many other businesses, we chose to postpone the 2020 events. We instead wanted to prioritise health and wellbeing, both for our staff and their families, but also for the wider community.
Our decision to support Guernsey and Jersey Mind, was an easy one. A local charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problems, as well as campaigning to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding – vital community support in the face of the uncertainty throughout 2020.
Mark Marshall, Managing Director said:
“Cancelling our annual events was a hard decision to make, but the right one. The health of our local communities was of paramount importance and so instead we wanted to give back to a charity that continues to do amazing things. We were delighted to support Guernsey and Jersey Mind for their amazing work in the Channel Islands”
Jo Cottell, General Manager at Guernsey Mind said:
“Thank you for your very kind donation. That is very generous of all of you at Insurance Corporation.”
Hugo Forrester, Operations Manager at Jersey Mind welcomed the donation during what had been a challenging year:
“Huge thanks for your generous donation, every penny helps us continue to work with our community in what has been a challenging year.”
Insurance Corporation are dedicated to supporting health and wellbeing through 2021 with the continuation of their community focused initiatives in both Guernsey and Jersey.
